i live in the city of polluted waters, 

in the age of recklessness, 

underage drinking and glamorized destruction, 

unforeseen distraction and vandalized walls, 

unfinished buildings wet in the rain, 

people exhausted, 


i live in a time of humorous politics, 

nervous bridges, 

falling, 

elected rapists upon podiums public, 


vendors and food unhygienic, 

yet the air most poisonous of all,

i live in a city evil and ugly - yet it is one where i belong, 

in an age where competitive self destruction is all the rage, 

tired and poisoned, we ache for our very denouement, 

yet continue to strive for survival meaningless, 

rot in silence;
